la fuerza

Por tanto,  renueven
las fuerzas de sus manos cansadas y de sus rodilla debilitadas.  Hagan sendas derechas para sus pies para que
la pierna coja no se disloque sino que no sane.
Hebreos 12:12

I really like the open and point method of seeing what God
has for ya for any specific day.  Yes-
regular ways of studying the Bible are healthy and needed, but it seems
whenever I’m in a bit of a rut, there is something in the thousand plus pages
that speaks directly to that.  Last night
I shared this verse (speaking about renewing hands that hang low from
exhaustion) and the story of Esau that is referenced a few verses later (when
he gives up his birthright for a quick fix meal) with the group who came for
our weekly community dinner and yes, the stubborn being that I am, it was in
Spanish.  All in all though I think the point got
across.  We, as a team, are taking this
month to focus on wellness and discipline so as to not be caught unprepared
when opportunities arise to pick up those unable to walk on their own.  Just as Esau forfeited his blessing for
satisfaction that would last just a few hours, we are prone to voluntarily and
eagerly give up the future blessings that would arise from living a self –controlled,
well-balanced life.  Proverbs warns us to
not love sleep so 3 times a week the team has been going on a Five am Fun Run
down to Lake Nica and to my great surprise, all 3 times that we’ve gone so far
I’ve made it to the lake without stopping.
I have no clue how far it is, but it’s definitely farther than Nena’s – Gloria
a Dios!  Strengthen your feeble arms and
weak knees.
It’s kinda a command.

Yeah, I might have to take a moment to catch my breath, but
I’m finding I have much fewer excuses than I thought I did as to why I shouldn’t
or simply can’t  live fully up to the
Latin meaning of my name- Strength.   It’s
coming.

  1. Loved your post – really spoke to me.

Keep running the good race for the Lord!

    Hebrews 12:1
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.
